Unique Personalized Gifts for Grandma That She'll Actually Treasure
Share
There's a particular kind of panic that sets in when you're shopping for grandma. She already has everything. She told you not to spend money. She'll say she loves whatever you give her — and she means it — but you want to give her something that actually makes her eyes light up.
That's where personalized gifts come in. A gift with her grandkids' names, her grandma name, or a date that matters isn't just another thing to set on a shelf. It's a reminder of the people she loves most, and she'll see it every day.
Here are seven unique personalized gift ideas for grandma — starting with our favorite (we might be a little biased).
1. A Personalized Grandma Sweatshirt (Our Hero Gift)
This is what we're known for, and for good reason. Our Personalized Grandma Sweatshirts are applique embroidered with pictures of her grandkids in her grandma name. Choose "Nana," "Nonna," "GeGe," or whatever she goes by, and we'll customize it just for her. We just need a high quality picture to fill each letter.
Every sweatshirt is made custom ordered — never mass-produced, never pulled off a warehouse shelf. That means it takes a little longer to make, but it also means no one else in the world has one exactly like it.
2. A Custom Ornament With Names
A personalized Christmas ornament with her grandchildren's names is a small gift that becomes a big deal every December. She'll hang it on the tree year after year, and it'll be there long after the toys are broken and the sweaters have been donated.
3. An Embroidered Burp Cloth Set (For the New Grandma)
If she's about to become a grandma for the first time, a set of embroidered baby burp cloths with the new baby's name is a sweet, practical gift. It's the kind of thing she'll use every day and then keep in a drawer forever.
4. A Personalized Key Fob or Lanyard
A custom key fob or lanyard with her grandma name or the grandkids' names is a small, affordable gift that goes everywhere with her. She'll see it every time she starts the car or unlocks her door.
5. A Handmade Scrunchie Set in Her Favorite Colors
This one's a little different — not "personalized" with a name, but personalized in the sense that you pick the colors and patterns she loves. Our handmade scrunchies are soft, gentle on hair, and come in prints that range from floral to festive.
6. A Custom Candle in Her Signature Scent
A handmade soy candle in a fragrance she loves — vanilla, lavender, coffee — is a thoughtful, personal gift even without a name on it, or in some instances we can find her favorite perfume fragrance oil to make a candle. Pair it with one of the items above and you've got a gift set.
How to Choose the Right Grandma Name
If you're personalizing a gift, you need to know what her grandma name actually is. Here's a tip: ask her directly, or ask someone who would know. Some grandmas are very particular about this.
Common ones we see: Nana, Nonna, GeGe, Grammy, Mimi, Gigi, MawMaw, Abuela, Oma, Granny, Grandma. If she has a unique one, we can usually accommodate it — just send us a note with your order.
What to Know About Sizing
For sweatshirts, we recommend ordering her usual size for a relaxed fit, or sizing up if she likes things oversized. If you're not sure, size up — most people prefer a cozier fit on a sweatshirt, and it's better than something that feels tight. All of our sweatshirts are unisex designed and tailored.
When to Order for Holidays
Here's the thing about personalized gifts: they take time. Because every item is made to order, we need a some lead time before shipping. For any proper time to create a personalized item, please order at least 3-4 weeks in advance, this allows time to communicate with you about personal information and gather personal resources, and /or supplies to create the personal products - not to mention sometimes, during the holidays, delivery schedules can be delayed. Personalized items shouldn't be last minute.
If you're cutting it close, send us a message. We'll do our best to rush it.
A personalized gift for grandma doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate. It just has to show that you thought about her — that you know her name, her people, and what makes her feel loved. That's what makes it a treasure.
