Hi, I'm Scott — the hands behind The Purple Parrot Co.
Everything you see here is made by one person, in one small workshop, one item at a time. No factory, no assembly line, no warehouse full of mass-produced stock. Just me, my supplies, and the quiet satisfaction of making things the slow, right way.
What I Make: I hand-pour soy candles and wax tarts in small batches — including my natural soy massage candle, made with real skin-loving ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba oil, and vitamin E. I stitch custom-embroidered sweatshirts and baby items, one name at a time (those Nana, Nonna, and GeGe gifts? That's me). I make car accessories — hanging diffusers, ceramic coasters, key fobs, lanyards — plus hair scrunchies, Christmas ornaments, and kitchen decor, all by hand.
If it's on this site, I made it myself. That's the whole point.
How It Started: Crafting started for me during a hard season. I was off work going through chemo after a cancer diagnosis, and I needed something to fill my time. What began as a quiet way to pass the hours slowly turned into something I loved — and after a stretch of life changes, an unexpected move, a shift in work-life balance, and some personal family losses, I decided to go all in. That's when The Purple Parrot Co. became a real small business, built on the one thing I'd found that I didn't want to give up.
What Makes It Different: The difference is in the details. My candles aren't poured by a machine — they're poured by hand, with real soy wax (no paraffin) and fragrance blended in carefully. My massage candle uses actual butters and oils you'd want on your skin, not mystery ingredients. My embroidered pieces aren't printed-on heat transfers that crack after three washes — they're stitched, one piece at a time, for one specific person.
Everything here is made to order, never mass-produced. That means your item doesn't exist until you order it, and it gets my full attention from start to finish.
